DAMOP Posters and Talks

Poster Sessions will take place at the Knoxville Convention Center on Wednesday May 17, Thursday May 18 and Friday May 19 in Ballroom AB from 4pm-6pm.

Posters

Each poster presentation is allotted 4 feet by 4 feet of space (120 cm x 120 cm). Pins will be available for mounting posters.

Talks

LCD projectors and overhead projectors will be used for the talks. Computers will contain the latest versions of Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

PowerPoint users should make sure that their presentations work on other computers. In PowerPoint 2003, use File: Package for CD. Under the Options button, choose "Embed True Type fonts", hit OK , then use the "Copy to Folder..." option to select where to save the presentation. When the computer is done, press the Close button, then copy the folder to a disk.

In PowerPoint 2002/XP, try using File:Pack & Go ; make sure to "Include linked files", especially if you have movies, and "Embed true-type fonts" if you have any non-standard fonts. Since PowerPoint will be available on the conference presentation computers, do not choose to embed a viewer.

To ensure a rapid and smooth transition between talks, conference participants are asked to load their presentations onto USB keychain drives for use in the supplied computers . Only the supplied computers will be used for presentations. Facilities will be available at the conference for transferring talks from CD, internet, or e-mail to a USB drive. Additionally, USB drives will be available for participants; no purchase is required if you do not already have a USB drive.
